Israel’s Allies

Today’s Reading – Isaiah 19-20

In that day Egypt and Assyria will be connected by a highway. The Egyptians and Assyrians will move freely between their lands, and they will both worship God. And Israel will be their ally. The three will be together, and Israel will be a blessing to them. For the Lord of Heaven’s Armies will say, “Blessed be Egypt, my people. Blessed be Assyria, the land I have made. Blessed be Israel, my special possession!” (Isaiah 19:23-25 NLT)

The Egyptians and Assyrians will be Israel’s allies? Did I read that right? When is that going to occur? Some of the things that Isaiah prophecies just seem so strange. We think that it will never occur. Yet what is impossible with man is possible with God. The last verse gives us some insight into these prophecies. God reminds us that He made everyone and that they exist for His glory. When you look at it that way, it does not seem so impossible.

Application to me – What impossible things exist in my life that I think will never occur? If all things are possible with God, maybe I should change how I view those things and pray about them since they are possible with God.
