Moses’ Psalm

Today’s Reading – Psalms 89-90

Lord, through all the generations you have been our home! Before the mountains were born, before you gave birth to the earth and the world, from beginning to end, you are God. You turn people back to dust, saying, “Return to dust, you mortals!” For you, a thousand years are as a passing day, as brief as a few night hours. (Psalms 90:1-4 NLT)

It was interesting to see that Moses had a psalm today. Psalms was written long after his death. Yet, his words survived. Moses’ message endured because it talks about a struggle we all have. Finding God in the midst of life’s trials is difficult. Moses’ pleads for God to return. Life seems so long for us but Moses reminds us that it is so brief to a eternal God.

Application to me – Moses’ message endured time because it was about God. I need to remember that things that seem long to me are only brief glimpses of time to God. When we look at things from the perspective of eternity, life’s challenges lose some of their pain and struggle.
