Today’s Reading – Nehemiah 9-10
“They remained standing in place for three hours while the Book of the Law of the LORD their God was read aloud to them. Then for three more hours they confessed their sins and worshiped the LORD their God.” (Ne 9:3 NLT)
What do you do for six hours in worship? The first three they listened to the reading of the law. The second three were spent in confession and worship. Notice that they stood the whole time. What does this say for you and me. We have trouble standing through a couple of songs. Were these people super spiritual? Probably not but real worship made them forget about time and discomfort. They were totally focused on God. Chapter 10 is all about their response and vow to God.
Application to me – How real is my worship? The people in Nehemiah 9 encourage me to examine my worship.
